Director & Coach
After a promising career in professional rugby was prematurely ended Darran decided to turn the wealth of knowledge he had accumulated in stength, conditioning and nutrition into a valuable service.
Darran is Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified and a KILO Strength Society Level 1 Coach making him an expert in the field of nutrition and program design.
Studying with renowned coches and world class practitioners within their fields Darran offers the holistic approach to exercise, lifestyle and nutrition we pride ourselves on here at Velocity Fitness.

Director & Coach
Dane is a well respected Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist. Troubled with injuries as a young professional footballer, Dane took the decision to become a Coach and Manual Therapist.
Dane’s background in professional sport combined with a degree and qualifications in Strength & Conditioning, Massage Therapy, Coaching and Nutrition, have led him to become an expert in the field of health, fitness and personal training.
Dane has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry having invested in education and seminars, learning from highly regarded coaches around the world. Dane works closely with elite athletes and has had a positive impact on many peoples lives with the use of personal training, group exercise and sports massage.

Coach
Maya is an integral part of Velocity Fitness, bringing her expertise, energy, and creativity to both the gym floor and behind the scenes. As a coach, she delivers expert Small Group Personal Training and Conditioning classes, ensuring every session is engaging, challenging, and tailored to individual needs.
Beyond coaching, Maya plays a key role in shaping our community experience. She manages our social media content calendar, keeping members informed, motivated, and entertained. She also leads our outbound messaging, staying connected with members and supporting them on their fitness journey.
And if you've ever enjoyed a post-workout treat at Velocity Fitness, chances are Maya was behind it—our resident bakerbrings her passion for fitness-friendly bakes to the team, adding an extra layer of warmth to our community.

Coach
Originally from Abergavenny and now living in Gilwern, Matt has always been passionate about sport—especially football. After studying Sport Studies, Leisure Management, and Sport with Business at university, he knew he wanted to make an impact in the fitness industry.
During the lockdowns, Matt took the leap and completed his PT qualification at SOS Academy, determined to help people become the best versions of themselves—happier, fitter, and healthier. Since then, he’s gained experience coaching bootcamp classes, 1:1 sessions, and online transformations, focusing on helping people build long-term, sustainable habits.

James is a key part of the Velocity Fitness team, bringing his expert coaching and creative skills to both the gym and beyond. As a coach, he leads Small Group Personal Training and Conditioning classes, helping members build strength, confidence, and fitness in a supportive environment.
Beyond coaching, James plays a vital role in capturing the energy and progress of our community. As our resident photographer, he documents the hard work, achievements, and spirit of our members, ensuring every milestone is celebrated.
Whether he’s coaching on the gym floor or snapping action shots, James is dedicated to helping people feel their best—both in and out of the gym.
